Hubei: The Baokang section of the Yangtze River Replenishment Project has been accelerated
At present, in Xiangyang, Hubei, the construction of the Baokang section of the national key project to divert the river to supplement the Han River is being stepped up.
At the construction site, a hard rock boring machine flew around the cutterhead and plunged “headlong” into the hard rock formation. With the roar of the machine, the rock, which has been ground into a sandy shape, is continuously transported out of the cave through a conveyor system. It is understood that the hard rock boring machine, known as the “Jianghan Pioneer”, is the largest diameter single shield hard rock boring machine used in the domestic diversion tunnel project, with an excavation diameter of 12.23 meters.

At the same time as the launch of the “Jianghan Pioneer” hard rock roadheader, the Zhangjiashan sand and gravel processing system, the largest sand and gravel yard in the whole line of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project, was also officially put into operation. It is understood that the Zhangjiashan sand and gravel yard is located in Maliang Town, Baokang County, Xiangyang City, Hubei Province, and is a key supporting facility for the project of diverting the river to supplement the Han River.
Jiangxi: The safety construction project of the Poyang Lake flood storage and detention area has been carried out as soon as possible
At the beginning of the new year, Jiangxi took advantage of the favorable conditions such as low river water levels in winter to rush for time and catch up with the schedule, and the safety construction project of Poyang Lake Flood Storage and Detention Area, a major water conservancy project in the country, is steadily advancing.

On January 1, at the construction site of the Kangshan Flood Storage and Detention Area Project in Poyang Lake, cranes, concrete pump trucks and other machinery and equipment were working at full capacity, and more than 100 workers were seizing the favorable weather to carry out the construction of the upper house of the flood gate and the concrete pouring of the dissipation pool.

The Kangshan Flood Storage and Detention Area of Poyang Lake is an important national flood storage and detention area, and an important part of the flood control system in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, undertaking the task of storing 1.57 billion cubic meters of excess flood water in the Yangtze River near the mouth of the lake. The total construction period of the safety construction project in the Kangshan Flood Storage and Detention Area of Poyang Lake is 32 months, and 60.63% of the investment plan has been completed.

The Poyang Lake Flood Storage and Detention Area consists of four flood storage and detention areas: Kangshan in Yugan County, Zhuhu in Poyang County, Huanghu Lake in Nanchang County, and Xietang in Fangzhou, and plans to undertake the task of sub-flood storage of 2.5 billion cubic meters. After the completion of the project, the flood control capacity of the Poyang Lake area and both sides of the Yangtze River will be further enhanced, and the safety of people’s lives and property in the flood storage and detention area will be ensured.
